The Marmotte Gran Fondo is a tough but unforgettable ride through the French Alps. Covering iconic climbs like the Glandon, Télégraphe, Galibier, and finishing at Alpe d’Huez, it’s a full day of hard work, incredible scenery, and that unique sense of achievement only the mountains can give.

I did not realise it was taking place until about 48 hours before the event and without a note from a doctor saying that I won't die because of a underlying health issue, I could not enter.

So instead we cycled half way up Alpe d'Heuz with our mascot monkey, Albért to support those taking part.

Two days later I did the route myself to see what all the fuss is about, it is absolutely up there with the best days I've every had on a the bike!
