Outside of photography and cycling adventures, I provide mentoring experiences that lean on my knowledge of outdoor experiences, photography and music to help children and young adults with special educational needs pursue their creativity and build confidence for the future

"By being honest and authentic, I create a genuine, trusting relationship — one that allows the next stage of the journey to unfold naturally"

Laying the foundations
For anything meaningful to be built, it needs a strong foundation — without it, nothing can truly be developed.
I use the outdoors as a space to help build that foundation. During this stage, I take my time and never rush the process.
By being honest and authentic, I create a genuine, trusting relationship — one that allows the next stage of the journey to unfold naturally.

Inspiring direction and purpose
Ultimately, the goal is for each learner to discover a path that excites and motivates them — something they can genuinely strive for in the future.
Through the mentoring process, I aim to help them to develop confidence, independence, and self-belief needed to take ownership of their journey.
By learning how to set goals, make decisions, and navigate challenges, they gain the tools to support their own endeavours long after the sessions have ended.

Building resilience and developing curiosity
Once a foundation of trust has been built, the focus shifts to nurturing curiosity — encouraging each learner to explore their interests and develop the resilience to see them through in a meaningful way.
Throughout this process, project-based learning becomes the framework, helping to build valuable skills such as communication, creative problem-solving, and collaboration.

I provide tailored, one-to-one mentoring experiences that use the outdoors as a space for growth, connection, and discovery. Each session is thoughtfully planned and built around the individual — their interests, strengths, and pace — following a person-centred approach that helps every young person get the most from their time outside. I draw on my wide range of personal interests and experiences to connect with learners and build meaningful relationships.
Through practical outdoor activities, gentle guidance, and reflection, learners are supported to build confidence, independence, and a genuine sense of belonging. The focus is always on progress rather than pressure, creating the right environment for each young person to thrive in their own way.
If you’d like to explore how we could work together to support a young person’s journey, I’d love to hear from you and start that conversation.
