What Goes Up...
Zig Zag Hill Climb Event 2025

The theme of my year seems to be missing out on cool things at the last minute, and the ZigZag Hill Climb was no exception. I tried to enter a few days before the event, but entries had already closed. So, in the early hours of a blustery Sunday morning, we cheered from the sidelines. Here are my photos from the annual ZigZag Hill Climb near Shaftesbury, Dorset.

This 2.4-mile hill climb, with its steep gradients and hairpin turns, brings together cyclists of all levels in a lively, community-focused atmosphere. Cowbells, cheering spectators, and a shared love of cycling made the day memorable, while raising funds for the New Forest Bike Project. Congratulations to Christina Wiejak and Adam Howell for taking the top spots this year.
